I will post here my Reviews, in English, of the Maiden Albums. Comments in the other thread please. Let's start with their latest release A Matter of Life and Death. Hope you will like them and Up the Irons!!!
Personally i think this is one of Maiden's best ever. I've heard it a few times and my faves are always changing but The Legacy is the one that keeps on no. 1.
The opener, Different World, has something catchy and the main riff is cool. Somehow I think it's not the perfect opener. Other than that i love it.
These Colours Don't Run is also on my fave list and why it shouldn't? The Vocals of Bruce, the bass and guitar riffs are as awesome as I disagree and that is pretty awesome if i may say it. The chorus is catchy and facking great too and i think this song wel work well live.
Another highlight of the album and it's just getting started. Brighter Than A Thousand Suns is a masterpiece. From the easy part to the fast and furious Guitar action, this song is awesome as Hell and so does the Lyrics.
Gers is also back with writing stuff and for me that's a highlight. Perhaps a fanboy, perhaps just a crazy ass fan, but atleast i like this song he made very much. Of course i'm talking about the Pilgrim. The drumbeat in the beginning reminds me of The Prisoner. Which means that's good. It also reminds me much of The Nomad, which i begun to appreciate beginning this month. To make the story short i love it.
The Longest Day is also an highlight, a masterpiece work, very catchy and i hope/expect to see this song live. Parts that the audience may sing, i can see it clearly before my eyes.
One of biggest growers for me were Out of the Shadows and For the Greater Good of God. Out of the Shadows is a beautifull song. Perhaps it should belong on a Bruce Album, but i'm happy they did on this record. Something different, something new and perhaps also from a Jurrasic period...
The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg was onced most beloved by me, now i think it's the weakest link. It doesn't suit the album well. It's a good song though but it shouldn't belong there.
"Tell me Why, Tell me Why". These Lines sung by our beloved frontman were done very great. Also dramatic, there are no words for it, so great it is. For the Great Good of God is for me the biggest grower. For the first time it doesn't feel me, it just doesn't get me there. But now i think it's great and let it keep it this way.
Lord of Light begins very slowly, catchy and then Satan opens the riff (i think Adrian) and the fire that spit out of satan's eyes are rolling in my ears. Very good song, if not great...
...and after Lord of Light the albums brings me to THE highlight of the album, THE best song Maiden has made ever: The Legacy. So original, so drooly. It made my cry...well it didn't but my emotions inside me did it. This is the song for me, thanks Janick and 'Arry for this song and...
